As a death literacy doula, I support people through the sometimes disorienting experience of being human by naturalizing conversations around dark topics like mortality––an education of the heart designed to facilitate healing, and restore a greater sense of ease, calm and perspective.

This is a compassionate conversation focusing on helping people understand and cope with the reality of being mortal in a space that helps breathe life into conversations about death, loss, and grief.
This is not about problem-solving per se.
It is an open-ended introspective exploration.
The goal isn’t to make life problem-free.
My way of supporting people is oriented toward deep listening and an open-ended exploration of whatever comes up in the moment. This is a non-judgemental, organic, respectful process giving ordinary life greater depth, meaning, and value.
It’s a bit like a good road trip. There may be a rough plan, but the real benefit comes as a result of being open to possibilities and not predetermining where you want to end up. It’s a process of discovery.

One hour session: $100.00 CAD
Multi-session package: $400.00 CAD
*The multi-session package is for five, one hour sessions.
All sessions are delivered on-line via Zoom.
*Note: If you're in active crisis, therapy comes first.

I am a writer, death literacy advocate, and educator with a background in cultural anthropology, and world literature and culture studies. I am also a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, and Certified End-of-Life Doula.
Bachelor of Arts (first class honours) in cultural anthropology, and world literature and culture studies, University of New Brunswick.
Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, two year program endorsed by the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (MMTCP).
Certified End-of-Life Doula, six month program, Rhodes Wellness College, Vancouver, B.C.

What is a doula?
The word “doula” is Greek for servant or helper. A death doula is a trained professional who helps people navigate the emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of dying. I specialize in providing education, giving workshops, talks, and having 1:1 compassionate conversations regarding death, loss, and grief, and thus I am called a death literacy doula.
